About This Job
The main purpose of this job is to manage growth of Commerce Bank’s overall Supplier Diversity program in collaboration with the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) team, driving the program toward best-in-class performance.

Work Schedule
• Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm
• Flexible/Hybrid work arrangements available

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the supplier diversity program, including connecting diverse supplier development programs with more visibly to bank leadership, regional markets and external audiences
  • Recommend strategies to manage the programs, implement approved initiatives and coordinate company-wide efforts to ensure diverse-owned and small business supplier inclusion
  • Build and maintain relationships internally with business unit leaders, and externally with diverse suppliers, networks and organizations
  • Track and report key performance indicators, dashboard and scorecard
  • Serve as owner of the supplier.IO relationship and system
  • Complete benchmarking of annual surveys to identify and recommend best practice related to a high performing supplier diversity program
  • Perform the annual spending review with ‘Top 10’ Commerce spending groups
  • Collaborate with business partners to drive change and establish overall governance, policies, procedures and systems
  • Develop peer group of leaders of supplier diversity programs from other corporations in markets served
  • Manage the internal recognition program for diverse spending
  • Embed Commerce Bank Supplier Diversity and ESG strategies in the organization to ensure long-term sustainability of diverse supplier program
  • Incorporate an innovative approach to ensure inclusion and growth of diverse suppliers as part of the purchasing process
  • Manage the ongoing internal communication campaign for the program, including internal Supplier Diversity training, Supplier.IO system training and adoption and curriculum management.
  • Establish Tier 2 spending tracking program
  • Establish partnership / mentoring / networking programs for diverse suppliers and purchasers
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications / Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Strong knowledge of supplier diversity, including best practices
  • Proven ability to analyze performance, data and research
  • Strong negotiation and consensus building skills
  • Proficiency in planning and project management
  • Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
  • Basic level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 5+ years of related experience in the fields of procurement, supply chain, strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management and/or supplier diversity required
  • Supplier diversity information systems experience strongly preferred
  • Workday system experience preferred
  • Knowledge of ESG / CSR topics preferred
