The Senior Internal Communication Consultant supports internal communication functions targeted to all Commerce team members. The position helps develop, lead and execute communication plans and activities to fulfill the Internal Communication mission to connect people and build pride by creating and delivering companywide communication that informs and inspires team members while promoting the company culture.

Responsibilities

•Write, produce and edit content for Commerce internal communication channels to better engage team members – creating
awareness of overall corporate messages, goals, values and culture
•Support and collaborate with business partners to fulfill their internal communication needs on projects and ad hoc communication
•Provide consultation and recommendations regarding method and timing of internal communication
•Work with business partners to support internal social media platform(s) and develop and execute strategy
•Manage the Internal Communication schedule and timeline to ensure all objectives and deadlines are met, while communicating progress of initiatives to involved parties
•Develop, lead and manage internal communication plans for special internal communication projects and initiatives, while collaborating with business partners and other Internal Communication teammates to determine graphic and video support
•Advance the internal communication brand and style while building out efficiencies in work processes
•Determine and utilize analytics to understand team member preferences to improve internal communication
•Conduct interviews with subject matter experts, as needed, for the purpose of gathering information for internal communication publication content and projects
•Ensure communications are executed to a standard of excellence and are accurate, engaging, properly positioned, easy to understand, on brand, and consistent with other related communications.
•Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications / Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, journalism or a closely related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience required
•6+ years related work experience required with demonstrated success in a communication role
•Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
•Ability (or ability to learn) web content development, writing, editing and publishing using Microsoft SharePoint
•Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent interviewing, writing and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and deadlines
•Knowledge and adherence to AP-writing style
•Solid understanding of the financial services and banking industry; preferably the Commerce lines of business and operations
•Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to effectively lead a project from development through implementation
•Confident, articulate and professional speaking and presentation abilities
•Motivated and organized self-starter with ability to manage multiple priorities
•Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned
