Location: KC Downtown 811 Main (825 Main)

A Senior Bank Operations Specialist performs a variety of jobs in the Bank Operations division. The areas include Wire Transfer, ACH, Trust Operations, Capital Markets Group Operations, Treasury & Commercial Customer Support and others as the need arises. The Senior Bank Operations Specialist may also work on projects and provide suggestions for improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks of high complexity for a broad variety of positions within operations or in other areas through Shared Services and deliver strong results
  • Meet accuracy and timeliness measures for work performed
  • Identify process improvements leveraging experience and knowledge from other areas and collaborate on implementation
  • Provide a high level of customer service to external customers and internal partners including phone support as assigned
  • Provide workflow expertise and implement process improvements in assigned lines of business
  • Act as an informal leader, assist to mentor team members and lead in Supervisor’s absence
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications / Requirements

Knowledge Skills & Abilities Required

  • Moderate knowledge of the banking industry and bank operations, including best practices
  • Ability to learn and understand Commerce systems, platforms, and products
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to be proactive and ask questions, offer solutions, retain information and apply knowledge to a variety of engagements
  • Ability to work independently and escalate when necessary
  • Ability to quickly and decisively take action in fast-changing, unpredictable situations
  • Proven ability to complete higher complexity processes or support high risk departments

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 5+ years customer service experience required
  • 3+ years financial services or related experience required
  • 2+ years bank operations experience required
