Department: Information Technology
Reports To: Director of Data & Analytics
As Data Scientist, you are highly passionate about data. You would work directly with stakeholders and technical experts to evaluate and identify ML/AI opportunities. You would leverage internal analytics infrastructure to design, develop, implement, test, and maintain artificial intelligence solutions that provide analytical insights and help power operational functions of the business. Additionally, transparency and education would be a focal point, helping to ensure that deliverables are understandable by the broader organization and are implemented ethically. You’d analyze large volumes of data to identify hidden trends and provoke amicable discussion that leads to a better understanding or process improvement.

Responsibilities
- Apply advanced statistics to solve business problems daily
- Leverage scientific approaches to ask questions, test hypothesizes, and share stories with the use of complex data
- Work directly with all parts of the business to harvest requirements and to collaborate on projects that span multiple departments
- Design, develop, test, and maintain ML/AI models
- Help identify value-driven opportunities to implement and embed ML/AI models in analytics workloads and enterprise applications
- Work as part of the internal Data & Analytics team to ensure the optimal design of data models and pipelines to support data science initiatives
- Proactively identify data availability and quality gaps and assess/share feedback of downstream impact
- Engage in continuous-improvement cycles for all production supported solutions; increase accuracy, performance, scope of insights, and more
ROLE SPECIFICS
Occasional overnight travel required. Must have ability to independently travel as needed, without restriction, by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train for customer and vendor calls, training, or meetings.
Qualifications / Requirements
- B.S. in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent experience
- Statistically inclined/mathematical expertise
- Strong understanding of enterprise data warehousing
- Experience with business intelligence toolsets
- Proficient in relevant information management technologies
- ETL/ELT
- Message queues
- SQL
- Python
- Knowledgeable & self-sufficient in process automation
- Extensive ML/AI modeling experience
- Familiarity with common algorithms and techniques
- Ability to translate accuracy measures into business-friendly outcomes
- IBM Analytics stack experience
- Top-tier organizational skills
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills
- Exceptional ability to document solutions
